I missed this about his mom. Why won’t she allow him to go to UW and Lake?

Everything seems in our favor: Lake recruiting and DBU development, NFL $$$, winning culture, former Seattle kid, B Murph and Saguaro coach enamored with Lake/Pete/UW, and FSP pipeline and peers.

You know when you were buying a car and you knew that getting a Toyota made a lot more sense than buying a BMW, but you wanted the BMW anyway?

To kids like Savvy it’s achieved Lexus status, maybe...

But Texas isn’t a fucking Lexus, it’s a Ferrari.

If you want to consistently get these types of kids, you have to be seen as competitive with a Ferrari on some level.

Ringo may think we are a Lexus too, but mom wants to live at the Ferrari dealership and it’s not a tough pill for Kelee to swallow.

It's just so frustrating. This is your LIFE, your CAREER! Now is not the time to be fucking around on hope and wishes. Straight dope: Texas's cornerbacks coach has coached DBs/CBs for 14 years. In that time, he's coached something like 4 NFL draft picks, just one in the 1st or 2nd round. Jimmy Lake's been coaching DBs for 13 years. 7 NFL draft picks, 4 in the 1st or 2nd round. SIGN WITH THE GUY WHO HAS PROVEN HE WILL DO IT, not somebody you hope gets you there.

Oh, and after Murphy goes in the 1st and Rapp goes in the 2nd this year, that'll be SIX guys Lake has helped get drafted 1-2.

 
Some kids and parents just don't get it. If it's not in the here and now it's not real to them.

When people react to "show me the money" it's like "where's the bags? I need to touch 'em ... The future? Whaaa? I don't understand what you're talking about. that coach is a great guy! He's all about family! I'm getting sooooo much love! He's not bullshitting me noo! Track record? Whaaa? I'm not sure what you mean ... But their uni's are awesome and 3stripe life yo! ..."
 
You guys seem to forget that all of these parents babies are automatically going to be the #1 overall pick of the draft and sign a contract of 4 years for $500 million dollars out of college. It doesn’t matter where they go none of them will need an education.
