Thing is, it still takes coaching. It still takes development. Over the past 10 years there have been about 20 CBs that were at least 6 feet tall and ran a 4.40 or under in the 40, and only seven of them were taken in the 1st round.
Most of them got what I think of as the ol' "USC Special" or the "Texas Special," where a guy doesn't get proper coaching and development so he should have been a 1st rounder, but gets taken in the 2nd or 3rd because he's still a phenomenal athlete.
