Splitting hairs between Urban and Saban. I give Urban the edge because he has never struggled. It took Saban time at Michigan State and a year at Alabama. I think Meyer can do more with less.

He really did seem defeated. I think the pace of the game bothers him. His bitching a few years ago about the high tempo spread and "is this how the game was intended to be played" really exposes this.

He prefers old school football and the urbz clearly is not that.

There is a short shelf life at schools like Bama and Oklahoma. Urban had to leave Florida before he died. A year off and a trip home to Ohio has him revitalized. But he's building and in year 3 when the fans are just happy that he got them here. From now on he has to do this every year.

He also whined about expectations being too high earlier this year. He had a great rant about giving second chances because he was criticized for bringing back DJ Pettway. He seems worn out. Chasing championships and being under the microscope at Alabama has probably taken a toll.
