The Pole is missing Softy and The Field.
All are factors, but the pussification has been ongoing for a while. I remember getting b.s. trophies as a kid in the 80s and early 90s (but my trophy for being first in the second grade paper drive was real damnit!

People were really shellshocked by 2004 and 2008. I don't think many saw the zero and one win seasons coming. I definitely went Doog in '09 when they won five. The difference was in 2010 I wasn't okay with starting three and six, and I wasn't okay with the defense giving up 40 points a game or whatever it was in 2011 (plus the fact we barely beat Eastern).

If football revenue goes down and starts to threaten Title lX sports then you willsee a change to winning football.
As long as football can pay the bills for everything else the AD and upper campus folks are happy.
The love-hate relationship with athletics and academics at the UW continues.
Why we can't have excellence in both is beyond me.

You should ask yourself if doogs were born doogs or created. Guys like Kim....soft, whiny beta types that never played competitive football...were obviously born to doog. But I think some guys like Dick B. were turned into doogs by the current faggoty climate of the Seattle area.

It has nothing to do with Seattle & Marinerization. Thats a common belief here but its wrong. If thats the case then how are the Seahawks the best team in the NFL now? Why have expectations for UW football changed from 1998 when Lambo was fired for 6-6 until today? Seattle isn't much different than it was then. Eugene is a pussified liberal city who had the #2 program nationally weeks ago.
Mark Emmert's tenure (2004-2008) is what lowered expectations all around….from fans, media & UW.

Thank you, Chest. Our non-Seattle posters -- bitter and cynical as they are -- somehow view Seattle in a negative light. Which makes no sense given that we have some of the best fans in the country.

No coach gets fired for their record, they get fired for empty seats and loss of revenue, which is a symptom of poor records ... caused by a bad coach.
Lambo was fired because Babs wanted more Olympic Sports funding and needed a splashy hire to do so.
I don't live in Seattle anymore, however, nobody seems to care the Mariners suck, no seemed to care when the Seahawks sucked ... and the NBA team actually was taken away.
Seattle has major bandwagon fans ... they go when people are winning ... could care less when they lose.
LSU survived Emmert, but Seattle can't ... why? Because Emmert is as political as they come and knows his audience.

Lambo was fired bc the boosters demanded it. Check with Race on Emmert @ LSU. Hiring a football coach there was of extreme importance.

I voted for the media one because although no mentioned in here Softy was the original Doog. He is still the biggest Doog even though MykFS and Cody Woofkens try their best to out doog him he won't give up his crown.
I get that Softy can't just come out and be like us on the air. However, you can tell even if he didn't have his show he'd still be a full blown Doog.
Look at how he acts when Oregon loses or when UW defeats a shit opponent.
