It has nothing to do with Seattle & Marinerization. Thats a common belief here but its wrong. If thats the case then how are the Seahawks the best team in the NFL now? Why have expectations for UW football changed from 1998 when Lambo was fired for 6-6 until today? Seattle isn't much different than it was then. Eugene is a pussified liberal city who had the #2 program nationally weeks ago.
Mark Emmert's tenure (2004-2008) is what lowered expectations all around….from fans, media & UW.
No coach gets fired for their record, they get fired for empty seats and loss of revenue, which is a symptom of poor records ... caused by a bad coach.
Lambo was fired because Babs wanted more Olympic Sports funding and needed a splashy hire to do so.
I don't live in Seattle anymore, however, nobody seems to care the Mariners suck, no seemed to care when the Seahawks sucked ... and the NBA team actually was taken away.
Seattle has major bandwagon fans ... they go when people are winning ... could care less when they lose.
LSU survived Emmert, but Seattle can't ... why? Because Emmert is as political as they come and knows his audience.
