Try the Beaten Path trail to East Rosebud 3-day sometime, Ern. I could have drowned on that one in my mid-20s. Pack all your own shit and camp where you find flat ground.

Homeless usually just keep being homeless. I saw a few get sober and normal but it was only a few. The rest got dead generally. Either by drugs, alcohol or crime. Had a transient that we all liked he worked around the local church and they let him stay there. He was funny. Until one of the other transients stabbed him a5 times and smashed his head in for his SS money…
