UW Couch Sales & Purchases (Portal Tracker)

I am of the understanding that rosters are not limited to 85 anymore as a result of the NCAA settlement. While Jedd has said that he wants to stay around that number (to not dilute the NIL/revenue sharing money) his actions appear to say he will accept 90 +.

As you have noted, his portal deficit exceeds double digits. And two of these signees are not replacements but much needed kicker and punter help.

Today's edge pickup helps.
I believe every player over the 85 limit is allowed but the revenue share funds are decreased by the cost of the scholarship.

I was getting closer to getting Doogish on Jayvon Parker during the Rutgers game and then he blew out his Achilles. He had been showing up more as a 3-tech who could also hold up against the run. They could simply never get healthy...both would have major injuries and then follow it up with moderate injuries.

It's best for both parties to move on because UW needs more reliable / less injury prone DTs with more upside (such as the Miami guy) and they could get some decent dollars and PT at a non P4 school. If they stay healthy, they both could appeal for 6th year Medical redshirts and get some more dollars.
He had a good start to 2024, then has been hurt since. Oh well

Rumors of a big DT commit? Guessing it’s a 6’3 350 over vs a top 10 guy.

I love it if it was Jericho Johnson (about 6'4" 350 lbs as a rising RS-Soph) but UW may need more of a 3-tech to pair with the guy from Ball State. Ideally he's a RS-Soph or RS-JR to give the young guys time to develop.

When you’ve lost Teq…

I'm thinking that time will heal some wounds and the sting from DW's idiocy will wear off by the time spring ball starts. Then it will further wear off by fall ball.

The bigger concern is Chun / Fisch. It sounds like they don't have a great relationship and I'm not hearing a lot of positives about Chun. I wasn't that impressed when I met him and think we can do a lot better - someone with more presence / gravitas and who is football first. I haven't met Matthew Hayes but his bio works for me: https://gohuskies.com/staff-directory/matthew-hayes/6294

I still think Fisch wants to do well enough to head to the NFL. One of my ideal scenarios is that the 2026 Huskies do well enough to make the playoffs so Fisch leaves for the NFL, Chun is then fired for mishandling the relationship, Matthew Hayes is promoted to AD which helps keep the roster intact, and Hayes as AD moves quickly to hire Indiana's defensive coordinator.

JJ is following Tosh. I think people are guessing Xadavien Sims, based on some connections with our Oklahoma pipeline .

Makes sense though I doubt we(?) can get Sims. Seems like Oklahoma or Texas Tech would buy him. Hope I'm wrong as he'd slot in perfectly in the DL rotation as a rising RS-Soph.

We're clearly not going to cheat

Why go all-in when it's far more likely that we'll underperform next year given the QB debacle

Jedd will be gone by that point (Chun will fire him)

Chun's not committed anyway

It's a fucking disaster
I’ve heard/read that Fish really wants a third party NIL rebooted. Chun has said no, keeping it all in house. Chum isn’t all in and I’m not sure why. He’s here, why not try to be great at your job? You want a better gig? Overcome the inherent problems that UW presents in half revenue share and a lack of fuck you money. Why would you want to sand bag this job?

Bargain bin shopping. Gotta love it.

I don't know, kinda seems closer to Indiana's approach and something that Ohio State tried to do last year with this Edge (older players who have produced at a lower level and likely would be a good rotational piece). This guy got hurt so it didn't work out at Ohio State. UW doesn't need him to be a starter in 2026, just someone who can play meaningful snaps so that UW isn't too reliant on Ward / Davis being healthy, Hyde taking a big step as a true soph, and DCB getting a lot of snaps as a true frosh.

Limar is essentially Wayne Taulapapa. Catches the ball well out of the backfield and can block in the pass game. If he’d played at Cal instead of Oregon he’d have 1500 career yards just like Big Papa did when he got here. He fits a roll. Bonner and Washington are the real home run hitters.

Fits a roll?
