It's different than anything else you'll eat, your experience isn't unusual if you've only been once or twice. Try again but not when you're in the mood for grease or something hearty. Go with someone who loves it and let them order. Rolls are a great introduction but also get on some nigiri (on rice) hamachi, maguro, and/or toro if they have it. These are all mild and fantastic. Your opinion will change, sushi is a wonderful thing
