THE UNITED STATES OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

If Hovland believed in himself I would too. Jack once told Trevino when Lee was struggling - Lee if you only knew how good you are you'd beat all of us. Then Lee did from 68 to 72
Hovland has it all except upstairs at this point

Hovland has maybe the most horsepower of anyone when he has it going. He sucks at chipping still but that weakness gets erased a bit at a place like this with the thick rough around the greens where it all gets a little random. He’ll win a US Open or PGA at a course like this.

Just need to get into the clubhouse in one piece today it looks like.

My buddy was dead last in the field in strokes gained off the tee in the first round. Ouch. That’s crazy, because he’s the best driver of the ball I’ve ever played with by far.

Right on queue, Victor hits a dogshit chip and makes bogey.

Poor showing from Brooks but he kept it on the tracks at least. Both him and Rahm putted terribly it looks like.
Adam Scott is on my radar this afternoon, so is Xander.

Concerned that Scottie can’t play courses that he doesn’t see every year.

So three under is the lead. Should hold up
2 or 3 over will need a big moving day

Another conspiracy theory is he can’t play on poa greens, which this is. Never won a tourney on those that I can gleam.
