Hell, countless liberals around the globe have gotten fabulously wealthy off of the American taxpayer and the scam the liberal elites ran on MMGW. I was at a speech Gore gave in 1994 on how the coast of FL was to be under water by 2008. I believe he started his billion dollar bullshit even earlier than that.
Its been a good 40 years and not one thing has come true around MMGW. Polar Ice caps disappearing, water rising, lack of oxygen, temperatures rising to non-sustainable levels, food shortage, crops with no water, blah, blah, blah. So the smart are starting to distance themselves lest they die being known as an idiot. Bill Gates isn't the first but he is certainly the wealthiest to back off the ledge.

In a new blog post, Gates appeared to soften his stance on climate change, writing that the "doomsday view of climate change" — in which global catastrophe would occur if rising global temperatures aren't addressed — "is wrong."
"Fortunately for all of us, this view is wrong. Although climate change will have serious consequences — particularly for people in the poorest countries — it will not lead to humanity’s demise," Gates said.
