the Pete and Bobby Challenge

Don't really like physical challenges where a short guy with T-Rex arms is at a massive advantage over taller/slender guy with long arms.

as haie indicated this is quite a challenge with certain builds. ngl it makes it really hard for me; I've been neglecting arms and doubt I can do the 100 pushups in 10 mins until I get better trained in that area.
Of course, form matters; do you have to touch your chin to the ground on each one? are pullups with your arms all the way down to close to straight? It's a lot easier if you don't have to go as far.

Preach brother. Preach.

I’m good on pushups but have always sucked at pull ups even when I could crush ergs at 21.

Pull ups just seems arbitrary. Like you chose two things you perform at and then just decided that that's the "Badass Challenge!!!".
Military press, squat, and controlled sprints were the two things that my Texas raised high school coaches really cared about.

Pull-ups are a pretty good indicator of having adequate upper body strength.
Yes, 6' 6" guys, we know your arms are too long to do more than 10 in a row.
