The Knowledge’s 🏀 UW hoops mega thread

USC tonight. Still makes me laugh how their AD was so fucktarded that they thought it would be a good idea to have the players surprise a frat house with tickets, while everyone inside the place was half dead and it looked like bombed out Iran inside.

B10 is in a 25 year drought. They have had more final 4 teams than the West Coast schools in that time frame. Gonzaga two or three times and UCLA three times are all I can think of.
OREGON 2017.
That team should have won it but Dillon Brooks forgot how to shoot at the worst time possible.

The entire time last night I'm just looking at USC roster and then the guys that "left" them for us and wondering who actually won in these player/assistant exchanges. Yates was so bad.

Yeah Steinbach played nice but I've seen Clingan play in person a handful of times over the last couple years. He doesn't have a killer instinct. He feels like some backup center that's going to play for the Celtics or Spurs for 20 years and have some nice touch on some plays and that's it.

I like Diallo's heart and efficiency with the jumpers. Hopefully he doesn't leave.

I think the season came down to having your best player not be a 🥦 head GenZ europussy. We probably win enough of that Ohio State/Iowa/UCLA stretch and then we're on the bubble right now.

I mostly just look at the box scores…but this year I saw a lot of Zoom going like 3 for 19 from the floor and ze German going 7 for 9.

You could say lack of killer instinct but 24 rebounds is 24 rebounds. Seems like a grinder to me. I’m thinking his best days are ahead of him à la Jayden McDaniels et al.

Ze German is legit borderline amazing. Team reminds me of the Canucks last couple years where the only reason I didn't completely stop paying attention was the fact they had the best D man in the league

He'll look good in a UConn, Arizona or Gonzaga uniform.

I like Diallo and live for local guys playing at UW but seems like UW always has these mid range guys who would kick ass in 2003 in the NBA who can't shoot outside. Steinbach is one of the best pure players I've ever seen at UW, but agree that he's probably not a dawg inside and that's a problem and the guy who is supposed to be, speaking of 2003, has hands like he's playing Edward40hands and can't maintain keeping a basketball in his mitts.

Kind of shocking to see just how many local guys were at the UW under Romar. Obviously Conroy and Roy were also Seattle guys.

Miss those days. Other than Roy I don't think any of those guys were big recruits either and Roy I don't remember being a huge recruit. I think Wrenn was but he started out at UConn.

I was actually just wondering if the state has fallen off at producing great basketball players, especially star type guys.

Roy was going to go pro out of HS but got hurt. If Zoom stays for his junior year at UW he’ll be really, really good. If his 3pt shot improves from year 2-3 as much as it did year 1-2 he’ll be unstoppable driving to the rim. Being a junior he’ll also have earned the “star” calls in the B10. He’ll shoot 10 FT a game next year minimum.

Eh, the B1G Network guys can't even avoid talking about how Steinbach defers way too much and how you're basically just trying to get your worst players to win games for you. And it's this entire fucking stretch of the season that determines if you go to the tournament. That's pretty soft, 20 rebounds against Charmin USC doesn't tell me more than that.
