The Knowledge’s 🏀 UW hoops mega thread

Actually listened to the Adam Morrison podcast yesterday. He said Smith was a good soldier as his minutes shrank (few likes bigger point guards and Saint Supery earned more minutes).

Smith is kind of like Ryan Nembhard. A smaller PG but makes good decisions. Not a great shooter but capable. He wasn’t cringy by any means. Would be a good get. Wont be a star. Solid contributor.

Looks like Sprinkle is tired of playing the NIL game and is loading up on locals.
Nembhard plays in the NBA. He’s not a liability on offense like Smith. I agree that Smith is good enough to contribute a little bit, but Nembhard was a legitimately good college PG.

I agree with Zoom not really being a winning basketball player. He would be a good 6th man or 4th option, defense first type of guard. He’s quick and can get to the hoop but the lack of jumper is a killer for a guard.

It’s hard to say wdwha because he was the 2nd best player on the team last year, but if you have limited money to spend, he is not a good option to be that guy.

The Rencher kid who was supposed to be great last year and didn't play due to health is trashing Zoom on the out way about "Money over stripes".

A Kentucky basketball talking head thinks Zoom is a bad pickup for them as he needs the ball in his hands and like 10+ fucking seconds to dribble it around in circles by himself with everyone watching.

KOMO buttfucker, WDWHA, Fuck Off.
It is a weird fit for sure. He averaged 4.5 assists a game, which looks nice from the outside, but 3 of those were Hannes being efficient after a rudimentary entry pass to the post. If Zoom takes another jump in perimeter shooting then this will pay off for him, if not he will bog down their offense and the Kentucky fans will hate him. Good luck kid!

If Kentucky surrounds him with shooters and he commits to being a PG, he could be good. He can definitely get in the paint.

Iowa State had a freshman guard that couldn’t shoot but was great at defense, cutting, and could beat guys off the dribble. When I watched them, I thought that was how Zoom should be playing.

Kentucky and Arizona taking our presumed starting back court is pretty telling. They were both flawed, but between them, Steinbach, and USC’s two leading scorers from the year before, this team had some talent and should have been better.

It is not a very good sign for Sprinkle being the guy. Injuries were a factor, but we lost to Seattle U with most of the team healthy.

lol I watched them this year and my only thought was that Iowa fans deserve nothing but relegation to the Big 12.

Zoom does not strike me as a player very interested in being a pure pg.
