The thing that's always gross is when Gonzaga fans get into the mix.

You have no football program. You are a poverty fucking school with a poverty high school logo and mascot. And despite the advantage of spending football money on basketball, you have no rings. Zero. None. Fuck off.

I would love that. Those guys cost a bunch though. They’re making money playing pro ball in Europe. They don’t need CBB unless they’re making really good money. I’m not sure what Sprinkle can do. He’s not proven to be a good offensive coach or a good defensive coach. There’s not much to hang your hat on in his program. I can’t wait for him to tell us how hard it is to incorporate 7-10 new guys and watch them kick games to bad teams while they “figure it all out”. I’ll bet the team won’t be able to shoot. That’s the North Star of UW basketball for the last 15 years or so.

Eventually he will over correct and have shooters but no PH to get in the paint to kick out, shitty rebounding, and slow footed guys that can’t play defense.
 
Can’t win if you can’t shoot. Better have three guys on the floor that can knock down a 3 or just fuck it.

Thats been the Gonzaga model for 25 years - and they floundered this year because they only had one. UConn and Illinois use the same Euro model. The only difference is UConn plays Euro ball with American athletes and Illinois played Euro ball with Euro athletes.

Good to great UW teams always had a few shooters. It’s not that hard to figure out.
 
So the names out there, the stats don’t wow me. A small guard with less than half a steal a game? Under 40% 3 percentage. Even Watts doesn’t have stats at the P4 level that wows you. These guys scream horrible spacing to me.

At this point I figure Sprinkle just needs to get a full roster. Without huge dollars it’s hard to convince kids to want to sign on to a program that hasn’t had a winning season in 6 or 7 years now under two head coaches. I just want a team that doesn’t get decimated by injuries so when they lose again there are zero excuses.
 
The Blazers local postgame show, Rip City Recap or something, the two guys that run it are seriously the best local team coverage and analyst guys in the entire region by far.

Anyways they were just going off on how elite Thybulle is as a defender and when you watch him there's just no argument against it. This is guy that should be on a real team and already have a ring or two.

It sucks that the NBA only ever employs dipshits that don't highlight guys like Thybulle. Guys that are overcoming injury and being elite defenders and not doing any "maintenance" horseshit
 
He shot over 40% from 3 last year. 25% at Wake Forrest the year before. He will shoot 30% at UW. Sprinkle will say in pressers all year that this kid is gonna go off for 6 threes and win us a game or two before too long. Just like he did with Petersen last year and DJ Davis the year before. Neither lived up to their hype as great shooters.
