The "Jobless Boom" Is Here

Yeah I look forward to getting hit up by Olga every fucking week about offshoring to Poland or Ukraine. It's awesome. Part of the problem with smaller outfits of experienced people is that training Gen Z Fucking. SUCKS. They take 0 criticism in any form and force you to give them a score instead which just makes it easier to get rid of them. It's a complicated problem but your suggestion would be an amazing start.

Throbber gave up training with the millennials. Not even gonna try with Gen Z. Too old for that shit. Here's the task, here's the deadline, figure it out.

Give me some chain smoking 50 year old gal that looks like Roz from Monsters Inc. and we good.

Here’s the plan over the next five years to avoid communism (or at least it should be):

1. The H1B and tech tariff thing.
2. Get government out of student loans game completely. I’m even willing to talk about partial loan forgiveness provided we addressed the core issue which is the loans.
3. Get the government out of home loans. Both origination and buying up sketchy assets. Nothing would lower home prices more than this.
4. Lower or eliminate minimum wage for people under 25.
5. Allow people under 30 to pay a health insurance premium that is associated with their actual risk levels.

What the hell line of work are you in? Varied experiences in companies and these ladies are always absolutely awful at everything and terrible to work with.

6A. End the Fed.
6B. Privatize Social Security to individual investment accounts. And give me back my fucking money with a market rate of return for forced participation in the Ponzi scheme Roosevelt foisted upon us. Hell, just give me back the employee portion and we be good.

I love the 50 something grumpy AP clerk that is super organized, doesn’t mind constantly pestering people and is in the office at 6 am and is gone by 2:30.

Lower level white collar shit will definitely be replaced. Be very very afraid if you're a bookkeeper or nut-turning accountant with no value add. Paralegals on deck to be replaced too. AI is coming fast.

6. Private equity out of residential real estate

I've enjoyed boomers, X, millennials, and some Gen Z but holy fuck if you're going to HR because someone accidentally says "Dude" you should probably pick up a No King's sign and stand in the middle of I5.

Biggest market opportunity besides tech/accounting/law will be medicine. The research and data component of AI is apparent and I wouldn’t want to be a primary care physician or a radiologist in 10-15yrs.

Shit I wouldn’t want to be a primary care doctor now.

Get good at customer service, learn your domain, empathize with the customer, be willing to relocate, etc. pick up a hammer, take on whatever problem is thrown your way and try to meet deadlines. Make things easier for sales/support.

Others make this point better than me but two entire generations were given shitty advice and allowed to be entitled, and now that things really are shitty for them it's falling on deaf ears.

I don't want communism. I don't want a European type country/economy. I think it's actually interesting that the left and the media seems to be ignoring the job problem and I think that it's possibly intentional and instead they want the focus to be on people getting deported, which only seems to matter apparently when they're not in the presidency.

I never said Trump wasn't doing anything. I actually think it's fucked up that whatever he says/does is completely ignored outside of the sliver of media which aren't against him and the vast majority of media just blast out whatever they think will be perceived negative (and they usually twist it).

A lot of the stuff I would even say are problems have been around for a long time and failures like allowing jobs to be outsourced, bringing in foreign workers, companies downsizing jobs for 30+ years now, etc.

My base thing here is there a job problem specifically for white collar and the future of employment is crazy murky. Not even getting into the AI stuff.
I appreciate your perspective. We need to bring manufacturing and technology back and guard it like it is Fort Knox. That will provide more white collar jobs.
