Grand Seiko makes an incredible watch, but they feel cold to me. No soul. Hard to explain. Very clinical watches.

I get it. It's like buying a Camry versus a Mustang. One is like driving an appliance, even though it's probably better engineered.

The GSs are a fantastic watch, by any measure, but yes, they just don't "move" me.

Occasionally GS does some fun stuff, like this Godzilla watch:

Exactly this. If watches evoked the feelings of cars, it would be something like this:

Vintage Rolex: A gritty purpose built tool

Modern Rolex: Sleek and powerful but approachable

Patek: Those lines! Those lines! Elegant, and timeless.

FP Journe: A work of art.

Audemars Piguet: Classic and stunning. With soul for days.

Grand Seiko: Impeccable in all respects, but my boring ass dentist drives it.
