Shirley has been hyped since he was a recruit. He did have 8.5 sacks as a freshman. It's been downhill since. I don't think Wilcox ever liked his one dimensional game. He's strong, but he's really undersized at DE and could only beat shitty tackles by running past them. In a lot of games, he was non existent. He was abysmal at fighting off blocks in the running game.

I still wish we had him. I think he has some talent and would have provided good depth in case Kikaha or another DE gets injured.

Talia Crichton had 8 solo tackles in 2010. 9 in 2012.

Shirley had 18 career sacks in 3 years at UW. Crichton had 3 sacks in 4. Shirley is actually a legitimate Pac 12 player.
