In the 80s, it was Pro Wings.

My mom bought me a pair of British Knights or L.A. Gears around 1990. I didn't get beat up, but it didn't go well.

I wanted to get a pair of BK's around that same time. My mom took me to Northgate Mall to do some school clothes shopping and while there I spotted a pair of BK's that I wanted. A black woman strongly encouraged my mom not to buy them and told her they were BK for "blood killer." I did not get the BK's after that.
 
I hated Marciulionus so much. Very awkward, jerky style with the ball in his hands. Had a random year with the Sonics.

Every player in that photo is nearly worthy;) especially in the hall of very good of today’s standards but every championship team in history could use a Coop on the defensive end of the floor off the beach. It was Cooper that Jerry West hand picked to try out high school Kobe prior to the 96? draft.
