87 Lakers >> 86 Celtics
I was a Celtics fan growing up
Lakers in the 80s
The Celtics went from the first team to start 5 blacks and the first black coach in pro sports to white America's team
But the whites could play
The ending was pretty insane but that wasn’t on Flagg. Guy was money all game, the fail was coaching although you have to give credit to Houston and their defense. During the game they said Flagg skipped his senior year and has a twin brother. What a finish to last nights Duke-Houston game. Cooper Flagg is the real deal. Except when he absolutely needed to be.
If you have listened to NBA Radio on SiriusXM over the last couple years, Brian Scallabrine was actually Cooper Flagg’s AAU coach. The ending was pretty insane but that wasn’t on Flagg. I expect Houston to be spent emotionally Monday after that crazy ending. They were celebrating in the locker room like the tournament was over and expect them to get beat rather easy.
McHale, Bird, Parish, and Walton. Yes, Walton was gimpy and a shell of 70s Walton. That has to be the best front court ever.Celtics City on HBO is worth the watch. New episodes every Monday.
@RaceBannon will hate it as a Laker guy. And in his youth the Throbber idolized Jerry West. But those fucking Celtics are a pretty special franchise. The Bird years, those white boys could ball.
Arguably 1986 is the greatest team of all tim. Not sure even Jordan's Bulls could have handled all that lack of melanin.
