Was hoping there would be a stock symbol IRGC for a what-the-fuck play.
 
As long as the blockade stays, it really doesn’t matter if ceasefire is on or off. Time is on the US side if Iran can’t sell anything. Gulf countries can stay afloat by using stocks they can’t move as collateral.

Plus Europe and the Arab oil states and the chicoms figured out that letting either Iran or the US determine that the Straight is a on or off again as a chokepoint is bad for business. Oil pipelines to avoid the Straight are and will be built and alternative shipping routes will develop. Like a wealth tax or a millionaire tax the Iranian decisions to use the Straight has a limited lifetime as alternatives develop quickly. Breaking points happen slowly and then all at once. Or as the Arab saying goes, although not so much a straw as a major international violation:

The Arab gulf states can finance this for far longer than the Iranians can do so. No one is going to loan to the Iranians. We should have blockaded Iran from the start.

If the Gulf States can get their oil out they are getting a premium based on pre-February prices. Iranians are getting nothing.
 
I’m saying they don’t even have to get it out in the short/medium term. Just use it as collateral in financing which Iran can’t do.

I agree with that. I was just pointing out that Iran is shooting off their toes to save the foot. Lots of long-term investments (for the dazzler that requires more than a one-year return) will be made to avoid Iranian influence in the Middle East.
 
I was looking forward to North Korea appearing as a well lit modern country compared to Iran but I can let it play our for a bit.
