Do you have any idea how big and how spread out those bases are? By design mind you, so that any successful missile strike doesn’t make them “all but uninhabitable”. Jesus, get out of your echo chamber and try to educate yourself. You’re making yourself miserable with lies and half truths.

Your sources are mixing facts and creating a narrative. The only service members, that I’m aware of, that stay in hotels are those serving in Bahrain. That’s because it’s a naval base, in the middle of a city, and is significantly smaller than the air and logistical bases (Al Udeid, Ali Al Salem, etc). Those bases were built in the middle of the desert, away from populated areas.

I was with CENTCOM forward in 2003/2004 and remember we had two separate incidents, on the same day, involving Marines. One was in Baghdad, and the other was on the Syrian border. Neither incident was particularly newsworthy but involved combat so both were briefed to the media. Turns out, if you take some facts from incident 1 and mix it some facts from incident 2, you can make a more interesting story. Not a story that was positive to the war effort, mind you. So yes, the media lies and is biased. You should know this. Talk to your son, I’m sure he can give you more examples.
