Rod Lavers were out of stock for ever. Nordstrom has then online finally and just ordered some size 13. GOAT sneaker ever.

My last pair eroded, but agreed. Owned blues and greens. People also love the Stan Smiths but I associate those with high school marching band at #MyTeds.

We had this same thread years ago and posters here were sucking off Under Armour. What happened?

Nike is getting smoked and has gone down with the casual wear. It’s still the King apparel company for sports. Adidas is #2. The rest don’t matter.

One of Throbbers two dads was a high school tennis coach in the 60's and 70s. Without a doubt, Stan Smiths ruled the court. Real ballers had one toe that was totally destroyed from dragging that foot during the serve. Guessing maybe 60% of the players wore those, maybe 20% wore Lavers and the poor kids wore whatever shit was left over from basketball season.

Jack Kramer rackets were what all the racquet club kids played with until about 1972 or so. Then the Wilson T-2000 came on the scene but there were kind of clanky. Young Throbber played with a Head racquet. Couldn't afford an oversized Prince.

I'm just waiting for the market to catch up to the absolute truth which I've already known which is that Nike is gay and retarded.

Nike really capitalized on the Air and since its been determined it provided nothing in the realm of cushion, it lost a lot of appeal. Of course for runners they did the whole titanium or some material plate thing that made running for distance easier, but it was ultimately looked at like doping, or those body length speedos that cut off all blood flow to the dong, but made swimmers half a second faster. That being said most people running could care less about PR's or if they win their age group at the local 5k.

Hoka are bad for your feet - the exagerated sole isn't good.

On are fucking amazing.
Correction: Hokas are bad for the throbber's feet. I run 1000-2,000 miles per year on them after two discectomies and the scope of a meniscus torn in three places. Have not had a single issue with back, knees or feet since switching to the Hokas. Kinda expensive for my taste but they keep me more active than I have been the five or six years before switching to them.

What gives you the impression that this is a place for nuance, buddy?
