My last pair eroded, but agreed. Owned blues and greens. People also love the Stan Smiths but I associate those with high school marching band at #MyTeds.

Nike is getting smoked and has gone down with the casual wear. It’s still the King apparel company for sports. Adidas is #2. The rest don’t matter.

One of Throbbers two dads was a high school tennis coach in the 60's and 70s. Without a doubt, Stan Smiths ruled the court. Real ballers had one toe that was totally destroyed from dragging that foot during the serve. Guessing maybe 60% of the players wore those, maybe 20% wore Lavers and the poor kids wore whatever shit was left over from basketball season.
Jack Kramer rackets were what all the racquet club kids played with until about 1972 or so. Then the Wilson T-2000 came on the scene but there were kind of clanky. Young Throbber played with a Head racquet. Couldn't afford an oversized Prince.
