Matt Campbell is the betting favorite

I’m reading it 2 years later thinking is this from 4 years ago? I don’t remember hearing Campbell’s name after DeBoner bolted but I also probably blocked out a lot of things for about 2 weeks.
I think it was just random speculation by fans. Don't think it was ever a real consideration, especially once JUDD WAS AVAILABLE!

You’re right. Campbell was choice 1 for leopard print princess before the Dutchman. 22 and 23 happened so fast and were over before I could process that they actually happened. The timelines of coaching searches bled together. It was Judd, Klieman and Liepold in the last cycle. Ugh, if those were the choices we may actually have signed the best of the three. Cuck Washington. I was a Liepold guy, Tommy was a Fish believer. Both wrong.

Yikes, I forgot Klieman and Liepold were the next most likely candidates. I would actually take Jedd over them, especially when it seemed like he was going to bring McMillan and company with him. I remember it seeming like Campbell was very close to taking the job before DeBoer was the compromise.

You're feeling so shitty that you're referring to yourself as a "what?" Not ok. You're a person, a who. You matter. A handful of random losers care about you, such as your uncle who incessantly interrupts HcH podcasts. You're worth something. Call Joey. Eat some Duck ass. Feel better.

Until next tim,

According to my source on Doogman, Campbell was offered and wanted 24 hours to sleep on it. Sloppy Jen thought she had her guy until he came back and said no thanks.

Tommy as in TommySQC or ThomasFremont?

I definitely have to go to this bar ~ I look forward to that event

yah, I remember thinking that Campbell was a good coach for a midwestern team in the middle of freaking nowhere, but not to lead a national program ~ not his style, not his strength, not his character. I was glad we didn’t prove that in Montlake. And Jen ~ Jesus we were never going to attract the right coach with her as the AD, we need a coach that is a manly, tough as nails, erudite, step over the dead kinda guy that displays a good sense of humor ~ no way in hell was a guy like that going to sign up for coaching a program with her as the AD and a sociology major woman as president.

The irony is that had we hired Campbell in 2022, he would still be here in all likelihood. We wouldn't have had the natty run but we'd be in a better place right now than we are. C'est la vie

Maybe. Maybe not. Campbell could easily be a peak at 8 wins coach here and Penn State. We will see how he does under the brighter lights.

I've never been a huge believer in him, but I wanted him over a Grubb hire the OC from within bs

Penn State will be a good gauge for how Campbell probably would have done here. I think Penn State is a easier place to win than UW
