I think it was just random speculation by fans. Don't think it was ever a real consideration, especially once JUDD WAS AVAILABLE!

You’re right. Campbell was choice 1 for leopard print princess before the Dutchman. 22 and 23 happened so fast and were over before I could process that they actually happened. The timelines of coaching searches bled together. It was Judd, Klieman and Liepold in the last cycle. Ugh, if those were the choices we may actually have signed the best of the three. Cuck Washington. I was a Liepold guy, Tommy was a Fish believer. Both wrong.
 
Yikes, I forgot Klieman and Liepold were the next most likely candidates. I would actually take Jedd over them, especially when it seemed like he was going to bring McMillan and company with him. I remember it seeming like Campbell was very close to taking the job before DeBoer was the compromise.
