The defense came out worst case scenario. They crashed too hard on stuff and got burned. Like they did under Deboer though they recovered enough to win the game. 10+ at least of those points were basically on the offense which was really off. Michigan barely had anything at all on O after the first few drives.
For some reason I caught some clips of that game and forgot about the 4th down where Odunze was uncovered for at least a huge game when it was close and Penix completely missed him. He had a bunch of plays where he just missed throws he usually makes or where he makes the wrong read. Rosengarten, who two years later is getting NFL All Pro votes, picked a bad game to have his worst start as a Husky going against what was actually the only kind of JAGGY unit on all of Michigan's roster.

Penix was off and so was the pass pro. Tybo Rogers wasnt winning that game.
We needed Johnson and he got hurt because the staff was retarded in the semi final.

The plays were there to be had to give us the opportunity to win the game. Having Johnson at full strength would have helped immensely.
I've said repeatedly I'll never understand why the team looked so off, like Rosengarten getting put on skates and Penix missing Rome on that 4th down. Ill-timed penalties. Drops. Michigan was good and deserved to win, don't twist.
My view is traveling back to Seattle after New Orleans and then back down to Houston was dumb and made us less sharp, plus Deboer talking to Bama.

People are also forgetting about that shitty backup RB dropping a pass along the sideline that looked like an easy 6. The entire team shit the bed and the offensive line played like pussies.
And I have never re-watched a second of that game and never will.

The coach checked out. I was at the team hotel the night before. Was annoyed most of the players where in the lobby Yukons it up instead of in bed or in a private room breaking down film. I knew they were not locking in and would fall behind early.

Sure what? I was enjoying $30 smoked old fashioned and chatting up Brock (I call him Brock) and Lincoln Kennedy. They loved me. But the players were way to causal.
