LEARN TO CODE

I’m using Opus 4.6. Does cool shit that takes time and energy and is easy to fuck up. Yesterday I took a 16 sheet demand plan model someone made that had internal and external links going in every direction, sums and lookups that weren’t cell locked, every potential problem you could think of, and it totally cleaned it up and simplified it in like 3 prompts.

I will switch to a sonnet 4.6 plugin in a different IDE when I don't want to wait around for opus to learn stuff that I already know. Different domain though.

Speak Engrish for us VisiCalc veterans.

sonnet, opus, and haiku are models that Anthropic makes. Opus is the most expensive model because you can use it to build intelligence into your company long term and have it orchestrate agents running on sonnet/haiku to do shit for you like Bob is describing.

I have no idea on that side of it, just using what it defaulted to and it’s working.

I learned to code. In COBOL. Actually a hot market right now. Turns out a huge % of our critical financial infrastructure still runs on big machines and COBOL.
Take advantage of that the next 3 to 5 years.

Fairly confident that is the learning window before the machines can figure it out on their own without any feedback.

In 3 to 5 years nothing will have changed except your Claude bill and the boomers moving the goalposts back another 3 to 5 years. Cook it.

Us finance guys are writing up business plans where the AI eats us last. Even though we should be first.

Starlink helped me transmit that I had a good chuckle at that.

Watch and see.

I am, making more money than I ever have before. When can I take a victory lap around you're dumb asses again? Oh wait, now sounds about right.

The only other person here that knows and does this shit has the exact same opinion as me.
