Kill me now

Franklin could never beat a good team in the regular season. Lanning has at least done that a couple of times to make the dance.
His overall accomplishments are ahead of Franklins in like 30% of the total years as coach.

ATBSJBS, Lanning does show some of those Franklin big game issues in elimination games.

That's what is so annoying about Oregon. One guy (Phil Knight) has made so many Oregon fans flap their gums as to how great they are. If PK can't buy them a National Championship now, as other schools are catching up to the whole NIL / House Settlement game, will her ever be able to? And will they ever develop their own QB in this new era or will they keep buying guys out of the portal?

Despite all the ridiculousness of of the past few days with DW, I do appreciate that he has developed on Montlake and will be here at least 3 seasons. Buying a portal QB every year would feel somewhat empty.
Dante Moore came through the portal but he’s been there 2 years after a year at UCLA. Anyone who watched him at UCLA probably didn’t think he’d be mentioned as a possible top pick in the draft.

He’s probably coming back for 1 year with Oregon.

Yes, and he was committed to Oregon out of HS until Dillingham took the ASU job. He's not a typical portal guy.

Yeah unfun odd vibes from that one it's kind of like the inverse of Mendoza which is odd but amazing and fun. If an NFL team is crazy enough to give him a contract it would take a massive loser move to return.

Though Moore was a 5 star out of HS and the #3 ranked QB in the nation. That generally is supposed to mean a future 1st round pick.

It's such a weak year for QBs that he just may go.

Appreciate you sticking around after a tough one like that and you were right that Oregon had one of the best teams in the country but couldn't get past Indiana. To win it all in college football seems like you have to be supremely talented, have an excellent coach, and have an identity/team of destiny thing going. Indiana was the only team with all that this year. Sometimes you can get away with not having much of one but you better be generational in others - thinking 2024 Ohio State and 2019 LSU with just superior talent. Ironically, I think 2010 Auburn is the only champ I can almost ever think about who lacked in all those categories, but I guess Cam was able to push them through.

I don't know about blaming Stein. When I watched Oregon their offense really only did much against non-terrible defenses when they were running their dialed up plays and once it came down to jimmies and joes they didn't do much. Their RT might be the biggest shitty douche to ever walk the earth.

Not sure about Tosh either. Oregon's defense had been lights out all year. College offenses being broken probably had a lot to do with that, but how much Indiana eviscerated that D is really impressive.
Oregon’s defense wasn’t great in the game, but the turnovers killed them. Indiana WR’s were making tough plays too.

Moore v Mendoza is a little like Leaf v Manning back in the day, except Mendoza is even more clearly the better prospect today.

@creepycoug said it all season: Oregon didn't have a great offense and there was something not quite right about their O line (not bad but vulnerable). Still think Moore has arm talent and can make great throws but he seems like more of a front-runner than a gamer. Oregon will win a lot of games next year if he returns but I think he has a ceiling unless the pocket is kept pristine and does not respond well when popped in the mouth.

100%

Can one learn poise and composure? Because that's what he lacks.

That's what Oregoon football lacks.

Had Oregon played BYU's schedule of 1984, they would have finished undefeated
