Ballz
New Fish
You guys are fucking stupid. Both of these new offers are really talented. This kid is 5'11-6'0 with 4.4 speed in high school. He's aggressive and physical and attacks the ball. Top corner prospect for Utah who do a fantastic job finding these under the radar guys with NFL talent. What are you bitching about? Again, late offers doesn't mean guys suck! It also doesn't mean guys who were offered earlier are more talented than them.
Whether or not they're good isn't really the point. It would be one thing if we had been hiding these guys all year, recruiting them and getting them ready to visit in January. But no we're just offering guys who are available because we're desperate.
Process > Results[/b]
This is literally the dumbest fucking thing I've ever seen. It's about the results over the process you idiot. I don't care how you get them or when you get them. Just get the best players you can that have NFL talent. That's it. That's the game. From there it's about coaching and developing better than your competition. Utah and UW are pretty damn good at evaluating and developing DB talent so obviously these kids are good and would be good takes.
And we're not desperate. We already singed three quality DB's. Every single one of them were top guys the rest of the conference wanted that UW beat out to get. We'd be fine just taking those guys in this class and being done. We don't need to reach for guys at all. But Jimmy doesn't sleep and wants to take as many DBs as UW is losing to maintain a deep depth chart of talent. Cool, fine with me.
Good process leads to replicable results. Replicable results are preferable to "oh well it worked out in the short term let's not worry about the future".
Late offers and finding guys who continued to get better and better throughout their high school careers is a huge part of the process. The process is ongoing all the way through to the final Signing Day. This isn't throwing out offers to less talented, project guys and hoping they work out. This is finding NFL talent late in the process that you like as much or better than others you have already offered earlier in the process. Anything is replicable if you're good at evaluating talent. We can get guys like Joe Tryon or Mosiah Nasili-Liu every single recruiting cycle by offering them late. There's always top-flight talent out there that is overlooked every single cycle. Continuing to evaluate talent all the way through the process instead of being stuck on guys that were on the radar early is the process. Trust the process.
I want you to be right even though you come across like a spoiled bitch who can't handle disagreement, but it doesn't help when you use bad examples to illustrate points. Nasili-Liu just redshirted and Tryon has one sack and a handful of tackles. Using them as examples of stellar prospects who got late offers is premature.
I want to agree with Cobra too, but he loves every player UW is trying to get.
It is premature, but I’m pretty sure Tryon is good. It’s also stupid to pretend like a late offer means anything at all.
Some have been bad offers have had no impact like Devin Burleson. Some have been good like Tryon.
I'm pretty sure Tryon is good too, but ballz emohatically using him as an example to illustrate the stupidity of the other side's argument is ballz fucking stupid given how little we've seen of him. Say "he looks like an example of one who will can out" or something along those lines. Don't throw fits and insult anyone who disagrees with your argument based on this unproven example.
As for Nasili-Liu, who the fuck knows? I love recruit highlight videos and the inexact hobby of projecting based in them, but come on ballz. You don't go to practices. You don't have private conversations with coaches or media oranyone else who has actually evaluated the kid versus big time competition. He's a fucking redshirt freshman. Stupid, stupid example.
I don't need to go to practices. Tryon is 6'5 270 lean and a freak athlete. He's a 5-star talent. If Coach K can develop at all he'll be a first round pick two years from now.
Mosiah is on the shorter side but at 6'1 290 he's also very athletic and quick twitch off the ball. He's naturally built strong with lean muscle mass. Works hard. High motor. Mid-round NFL talent.
This is a fucking recruiting discussion you idiot. Recruiting is about physical talent and the intangibles. Nothing else. I don't need those guys to be All-Conference players right now to make a fucking point. Both were late offers and both have the high end physical talent we want on this fucking roster for their respective positions. That's all that matters.
