I'm ride or die with your philosophy. You know that. But I do buy into the concept that we have brought in plenty of TBS talent. The numbers don't lie. We have recruited top of the Pac, along with Oregon, for 4 years straight. It isn't the talent we are bringing in that's the problem. It's the shit in game decisions, the shit play calling, the poor player management, the total lack of fun or alpha mentality throughout the program, etc. We have gotten piles of good players the last 4 years. We just did less with more this year. Coaching. Go figure.

It's a combo. Using the wrong players, poor in game coaching, terrible offensive philosophy, some player development issues, poor play calling, etc. So yes, coaching. Turns out against all odds it appears Cristoballz was better at it than Pete. At least burnout "I don't enjoy the Rose Bowel" Pete.

Development has shown to be strong at UW over a bigger sample so I don’t think it’s A. I think B is the answer as well as our risk aversion. We have been a philosophically safe program. Oregon has been much more willing to take risks.

Oregon won the 2018 game by going for it repeatedly on fourth down and getting it. We went for it once, a qb sneak, and failed. Never risked it again. Sat on the ball to play for a fg when we were kicking your defensive lines ass all the way up the field.

That’s pretty much the programs in a nutshell.

Oregon and UW's classes have been relatively similar, but Oregon is by far winning the national narrative about their recruiting. I can't count how many times I've heard national people say that Oregon is by far out recruiting everyone else in the pac-12.

UW's recruiting just isn't flashy, we get local kids, close most of them early, and don't disturb the national recruiting scene. Narratives are just narratives, but unless we start competing on guys like Flowe, Oregon is just going to have an easier time selling themselves over us.

The hating on Feld will continue unabated. I agree with @dnc that before this year we were actually happy with our strength program and development of players for the first time in a long time. This year was bad in almost every area. When you lose in the 4th quarter game after game the FINISH tee shirts come out for the next season and we all know what that means

My #1 concern is the offensive line. It is so much mental/ Hopefully getting rid of the candy ass at the top will help. Otherwise Huff is next

That's why I used the words "slightly better". It's not just about raw numbers which are totally open to anyone's perception since they are numbers created by so called experts. It's like Neighbor says the national narrative is that Oregon is knocking it out of the park while UW largely flies under the radar. That narrative or perception, whether true or not, has a lot of value in future recruiting. That is why I'm gonna stick with the words "slightly better".

Yeah the coaching was dogshit. Playing the wrong players at LB and WR and the terrible play calls at crucial times cost is multiple games.
