This was definitely the joke back in the day both before, during, and after my time in college. University of $poiled Children. I know USC's admission standards had gone up but I don't understand how legally they are prevented from just taking a big enough check to waive those standards and why all the extra steps of bribery that definitely are illegal. What prevents them from having a special class of "donor, ring of honor" blah blah blah we cut a check for that dormitory wing admission? Federal funding or something?

Nothing technically prevents it, and it still goes on. Issue here is that these are B list money people. Really C list. They don't have the swank to out and outright buy spots. If USC let every $500K mouth breather in the student body composite would look more like Boise State's. So they had to get to individuals who don't make a lot of bank, who can bought with low sums of money.

Make no mistake they take complete idiots in, but it takes a little more money to get their attention now. George Lucas' kid could be a retard and get in, because he just gave the film school like $100 million. THAT is power and influence. Lori Loughlin and her guido husband are low-level Hollywood players. She's still hot af but she's a fucking Hallmark actress, and I've never even heard of his sorry ass. There's zero prestige in having those two brats running around campus as there would, say, the daughter of someone like Meryl Streep, who was smart enough to get into Yale w/o these shenanigans.

I think these people had to go back door (hi @PurpleThrobber hi @Swaye ) because they lack the money and the status to go in the front door with permission. The front door with permission, as we've all been saying, is as old as these schools are, and is still alive and well. It's just that these dipshits don't have that kind of swag. Maybe Huffman does with Macy's $$ added to hers. I don't know, but probably not.

And, let's remember that these people are actors and a lot of them are just fucking stupid to the workings of the real world and don't think anything will ever touch them.

Come to think of it, Rob Lowe's two boys just graduated from Duke. I wonder if he's caught up in this.

And why do so many of our preferred walk-ons come from private schools or rich kid schools like Bellevue, O'dea, Eastside Catholic, and Archbishop Murphy? And why was preferred walk-on WR Josh Rasmussen's dad, Rich Rasmussen, working for the football staff from 2013-2017 and obviously got his son into UW through the football program? 👀

Petersen runs arguably one of the cleanest programs in college football but I'm not gonna throw stones at USC and pretend none of this shit could possibly be happening at UW as well.

Our current staff has been leveling up a walk-on program that didn't use to be emphasized, year-by-year. It didn't turn good until this year, most likely to do with Sark's incompetence, rather than corruption.

Everything I stated was only about Petersen walk-ons currently on the roster and soon to be added to the roster. In no way is Ben Hines leveling up the walk-on program and he was brought in just last year as a 2018 recruit. Seriously? C'mon dude. That's suspect. In no way does Ben fucking Hines even deserve to be a scout team guy for a team trying to win a national championship.

1. Lol as if you would know because you're so rich and successful and know which schools are the "real rich kid" schools. You're some fat loser with nothing better to do than be on this board 24/7. You wouldn't know either way.

2. Two private schools and a public school in a city where a lot of millionaires live and send their kids to school qualify as "rich kid schools" relative to the backgrounds of most college football players.

3. Eat a dick. Oregon sucks. Mediocre Pac-12 team. 4th in the North.
