Ethan Garbers, 2020 4* QB, Newport Beach (Corona Del Mar), CA (Committed)

Jake Browning as your back up? I feel most of us here would be okay with that. Spell a guy for injury. Have none of the pressure of being the man. Just ripping it, not over thinking everything. If Garbers is JB then that is a win for the talent available this year. I agree with someone earlier. Party your ass off, back up Huard and recruit the fuck out of SoCal for five years. Win, win, win.

He's a better prospect than Browning was. He's not afraid of the rush at all. Browning was scared of his own shadow because he never experienced real pressure in high school. Ethan does and just hangs in there and takes hits after getting the ball out. Doesn't flinch. Doesn't drop his eyes. He's a quality QB to add to the depth because he's accurate, consistent, and plays the game like he has a pair. He just doesn't have a big arm so I guess that's the one trait he shares with Browning. I don't think anybody would panic if he starts games for us at some point during his career here for whatever reason. Transfers and injuries happen. You have to have quality depth at QB that doesn't flinch if thrust into the starting role and Ethan is a very poised, steady performer.

We've unironically reached the point where even ballz is saying "recruits read the boardz!" And I agree...

Not sure what to make of this. Good job ninja crew. RIP @CokeGreaterThanPepsi and @Dennis_DeYoung. @Swaye what will you do with your nue found responsibility, and not the papoose.

Will the success of this board be the root of its demise?

I can't wait for the next poast to get pinned by a recruit, have someone bring this forum up at a recruiting banquet, and have Petermen ask, who.gif

Apparently he absolutely balled out in the elite 11 finals. And hes a stud recruiter. Fuck all the haters.

Whoever wins the starting job and keeps it with Sirmon, Morris, Garbers, and Huard competing will be a stud. If the offense still sucks, Pete has gotta give up the scheme

He was ranked 11th out of 11, no?

I think he’s decent and worth a scholly but if he ever plays it will be a disappointment.

He finished ranked 9th out of 20 4 star ish QBs, and also led his 7on7 portion team to the finals by going 6 td 0 picks

That’s a good report.

I’m glad he’s ours.

9. Ethan Garbers - Garbers had a relatively quiet and ho-hum week until the final day of action. The Washington commitment was inserted as his 7-on-7 team’s quarterback during Wednesday’s elimination rounds and led his team to an overtime semifinal victory and title game appearance. Garbers finished the tournament 42-64 for 6 touchdowns and no interceptions. The 6-foot-3, 194-pounder did a nice job of limiting turnovers and taking what the defense gave him, mainly targeting the short and intermediate areas of the field.

If he measured 6-3 at the camp that’s more exciting than anything else they could say about him.

WHO THE FUCK CARES?

HE’S THE FUCKING MAN. IF HE BEATS OUT SOMEONE IT MEANS HE’S GOOD. STOP BEING FUCK IDIOTS.

Bingo

It’s why I always say that it’s never about any player particularly

As long as you bring in talented players, let the cream rise to the top and the best player plays

Sounds like a real gamer. Cerebral. A coach-on-the-field type. The sort of kid I'd want my daughter to have unprotected anal intercourse with.

All-american dad!

Apparently the top 11 in this camp was voted on by the players themselves and is almost totally meaningless.

You don't think that the players can be trusted to made honest assessments of their peers at this level?

The NFL Top 100 players vote is a popularity contest. Why would you think a vote by high schoolers wouldn't be?

It's my experience that kids usually know who the "best" players are. Whether they are honest and put it down on paper is another discussion.
