Team talent composite and they're record last year.

Florida 7th 8-4
USC 10th 5-1
Oregon 12th 4-3
Penn St 13th 4-5

Tennessee 15th 3-7
Florida St 16th 3-6

UW 19th 3-1
Imagine being a fan of Texas or Tennessee
I’m not quite sure what you’re trying to demonstrate here. Despite Covid opt outs, condensed conference only scheduling, contact tracing, etc the composite one again showed the correlation.
Unless the intention is to mislead and bamboozle why does the list start at 5 but skip 8 and 9? Is it because 2, 3, 4, and 8 made the playoffs while 1 and 9 won the Peach and Cotton Bowls? I think 7th Florida can be excused for making the Cotton Bowl and their losses to 2, 6, 9, and 11.
In summary: With the exception of #5 Texas and #6 LSU all the teams 1-12 either went to the playoff, NY6 Bowl, or the conference championship game. All the five big conference champions came from the top-12.
#5 Texas fired their coach for underachieving.
#6 LSU had opt outs from their top players, satiated after winning the national championship the year prior.
#14 and #15 also fired their coaches.
Coaches of teams in the top-15 had this option:
* Get to playoffs, conference championship game, or an NY6 bowl. Ten achieved this.
* Be the defending national champion. One achieved this.
* Get fired. Three achieved this.
* Be James Franklin. One achieved this.
How about a non Covid season, like 2019? Here are the final AP poll rankings and their team talent rank.
1. LSU: 5
2. Clemson: 9
3. Ohio State: 2
4. Georgia: 3
5. Oregon: 17
6. Florida: 15
7. Oklahoma: 9
8. Alabama: 1
9. Penn State: 11
10. Minnesota: 42
Only two out of the top ten weren’t top-15 in talent. One was 17th and had a QB who would break the rookie passing records. The other was an impressive 42nd, but they also had one win against a conference opponent with a winning record. PJ Fleck has his Row the Boat schtick, and he’s shown he’s capable of getting into the top ten with Jimmy Lake type recruits. He’d be a good fit.
