Holy shit! Let’s hope Jimmy Lake is in the mold of Ryan Day or James Franklin: shit talking CEO of the program and amazing recruiting.

That said, things had pointed the way of a coach in waiting scenario with Lake turning down big time DC offers and not taking a smaller HC job, then the title bump, then calling plays, then Harris being brought in as a DB in waiting, then the salary bump.

It was 3 years of expecting Lake to go only to give more and more.

I just didn’t expect it to happen for another 3 years and Lake wouldn’t have the patience to wait it out.

For the people that speak academic bureaucracy what does "Petersen will transition into a leadership advisory role for Husky Athletics." mean?
Hopefully Lake is a better HC than a DC
Hopefully Kwat is given control of the defense and Lake doesnt try to do DC/HC
Hopefully this isnt a civil war or mass exodus because there are a few good coaches on staff
Hopefully Lake spends a ton of money to get a good OC

Holy fuck it actually happened.

I'm pro Jimmy Lake HC, I would be worried trying to bring someone outside in when the best thing we have going is the culture.
Jimmy Lake at moderate salary + expensive OC. Basically the Cristobal model.
