Though they would drink nocino as an aperitif. My first meal in Parma was fried horse meat. Surprisingly tasty. Also, they make tortellini with pumpkin with Parmesan cheese and butter. Holy fuck, that shit is good

No, not at all classy. I just like quality liquor. The Nocino is from a distillery in Snohomish. It kicks ass.

Taking a trip to Italy is on the bucket list. I would need to spend several weeks there. I want to sample the different foods & wines (yeah, fuck off).
 
I when you go to Italy, be sure to hit the state-run (sorry Mike Damone) enoteca in Siena. They are the only place in the country to have wine from every region in the country. I got completely shitfaced there with some American Airlines pilots and stewardesses back I the late 90's. Very fun place and for some reason only in Siena
