A couple of questions regarding the fischer of men . . . . . . . .

I did but that is a different conversation than lightning in a bottle year 1 rebuilds ala DeBoer and Cigarette
Right now to me you're looking at a very small group of teams that can actually compete on the highest level.

Group 1 - Programs that were really stable when college football took a monstrous shit AND will psychotically burn money - Ohio State, Oregon, Georgia, Notre Dame and Texas are kind of in there. Michigan can be here if they turn it back around.

Group 2 - Programs that spend too much money to fail and can work the portal some of which are aided by being - A&M, Texas Tech, Miami. USC tries but still can't. LSU and Tennessee too.

Group 3 - Program that hired a guy who is on the Saban/Harbaugh/Urban level who turned themselves into Group 1 overnight - Indiana

The problem is right now if you're not in one of these groups it's really hard to care because you feel locked out of competing for anything that matters especially with bowl games not mattering and this isn't a pro league where you get better draft picks if you fail. It's actually the opposite.

Fuck, I don't trust UW enough to not do some dumb shit with him as head coach.

But if you look back at the season with our shitty DL that was forced out recently, Walters was the biggest reason it was 9 wins at all.

The final stretch was his defense either dominating or giving the offense more than enough chances.

You're speeding up the timeframe by a year. It was always 3 years. People were restless with Peterlips but he popped in year 3.
He popped in year 3 with no portal. His year 3 results was pretty easy to see coming, even the media saw that coming. Fisch’s year three roster looks worse than his year two roster.

I saw enough from Fisch at Lumen Field to see where this was going.

Add a couple more JAGS to the Dline and I think the defense takes another step next season. Safeties are better, corners might be a tick down from last year, LBs are better and the DL is close to being a push. Not there yet but close. They could have a slightly higher ceiling if they add the right guys and stay healthy. George is Durfee. Davis was good inside, he will be better. They’ve found guys to replace Butler, Uiungalelele and Pepa. Find someone to replace the big DE (I like Keona Davis) and it’s officially a push. If DCB and Uma -Cais can give you a few snaps a game that match their talent level then as a whole it could be a little better.

I have to disagree on Petersen. In Portland his first 2 years only reinforced the narrative that Boise coaches do nothing after Boise. I don't know what media saw it coming, this site certainly didn't. I called in to Chest and Roadies show and we were worried about fucking ASU at that point, let alone Stanford/Oregon.

Year 3 with no portal. Okay, but there's also no portal. Gaines can't leave, etc. it works both ways.

We went from unranked at the end of 2015 to like #14 in the 2016 preseason polls. That’s a big leap and an expected pop based on the roster.

Yeah because advanced stats started becoming part of the equation, and in our victories we blew teams out, and in our losses they were close.

Our preseason ranking that year was 100% data science fags.

Again DeBoer has been P4 coach 4 years with 2 playoffs

Thinking he's done is wishful thinking and let's the idiots at UW off the hook

I'm a Husky fan.

If he's washed why is Fisch getting year 3

Like @whlinder said - do it again if you lost him. Stop settling and crying about tiers and we're poor and we can't

Get an angry AD and coach and get shit done

Maybe DeBoer will figure it out in year 3

I'm resigned to the fact that all the blind dismissive rage against DeBoer is grounded in the fucked up way he left UW and that people here can't get past that. So I've come to terms with it. But DeBoer's best days are in front of him.

Walters was re-signed. Sounds like it was gig time donors that made that happen.
Why couldn't we find whatever it was going to take to get one of the top 5 QBs available in the portal and refuse to let Dumond come back?

Meh. We should have entered Demond into the portal and then collected the $4 mil damages and used that for more DL, Edge, and a quality WR. Let one of the QBs on roster be a game manager. Or buy the best QB we can with the $4 mil.

Letting Demond come back is beyond fucktarded.

Why does it have to be easy? Nothing worthwhile is easy

Keeping fisch when we all know next season will suck is just a waste of a year

you wont find #3 that way
What is the primary catalyst for 2026 likely not reaching expectation?

Is it because Jedd's whatever?

Or is it because his QB had his family go rogue and increase the potential for the season to unravel internally?

It's easy to answer abundance but the Demond fiasco is more damning of Jedd and what's possible here going forward than anything else.

And BTW, Chun is a much bigger issue than Jedd

My point is only two coaches have been true outliers.

A 3 year rebuild is still the status quo.

Do or die year for Fisch.
DeBoer and Cigs are really apples and oranges

KDB inherited the balance of the roster from CP's recruiting that was already here. His prior relationship with Penix (and Penix's ability to stay healthy for 2 years) is what took everything to the next level.

Cigs ... there's nobody that has really done what he's done
