None of what these idiots say makes sense when you consider that the bball player we got was declared as getting 2 million, but that wasn't just straight cash it was an estimation from the endorsements he was going to get.
So throwing these numbers around at all just looks like desperation from Dannen because the dude is way in over his head at the Power 2 level. His tenure was short but almost worse than Jen's.

Nice to see this punk is already making bitchy excuses. UW, and TCU have been in the natty the past two years. Michigan won this year and was in the CFP the two years before that with what I have to assume is a budget and vibe closer to UW than you might think. Oregon hasn't made the CFP in 9 seasons spending more than everyone else. A&M has never been close have they?
It doesn't get laughed at or hated enough for Oregon how many fucking billions has been pumped into that program outside of Chip Kelly has been what level of program really? I'll always give the kudos for the Chip Kelly move though, rolling the dice and getting him to be OC then making him HC was a ballsy move most programs wouldn't have done.

Don't think it's ever been level but it's never been anywhere near what it is now where guys are just considering schools with the biggest bags. It's pretty simple and would be best for the sport in the long run for them to just create a cap.

Possibly it will turn out like the NFL caps. But only the super conferences will have high caps or the ability to meet the $$$ demand.
You could make the comparison to baseball, which has no cap, but there has to be a reconciliation between "contract length" and the ability to transfer every year. The (expected) best players for the next season are not all available to sign every offseason.
In college football they effectively are now, unless you can write contracts with super high penalties to prevent transferring, which I kind of doubt is going to happen.

if they tie the nil dollars into a “contract” that ensures X amount of years I’ll be happier so at least we can get to know the kids for a couple of years before we hate them.
