Your favorite cover song.

All Along the Watchtower by Hendrix is factually the greatest R&R cover of all time. It's not all that close either.

Dazed and Confused and When the Levee Breaks want a word with you in the 7-11 parking lot

Juice Newton's Angel of the Morning

These threads always devolve into the most obscure finds possible to show how cool they are.

Nothing has changed. Its comforting in a way

Jimi Hendrix? Way too mainstream dude, But it is the GOAT

My choice hit #2 in the US Pop Charts. Take that.

Came to say All Along The Watchtower, which was previously pointed out, and mostly for my eternal love for Winnie Cooper:

Joe Cocker - With a Little Help from my Friends

Those are worthy comps for the greatness of the songs, but I think of them more as rip offs than covers (with all die respect). Maybe that's not fair.

Won’t get a lot of votes here but their live version is better than the album version, which in turn is better than Seger’s

This version actually made me like a song that I previously didn’t like

Doesn't deserve its own thread but a conversation with Harv got around to Tone Loc sampling Jamie's Cryin. I had forgotten how awesome it was. Jamie's Cryin is one of my favorite songs and the fav VH song for me. The beat and the riff are gold.

On Joe Rogan's pod Dave was talking about the Latin beat influence to the opening drum riff. Said they had a lot of Latino influence as a LA band. Makes sense.

Dazed and Confused is like a double whammy.

Original Song by Jake Holmes > Yardbirds Version > Led Zeppelin.

Also Led Zeppelin's Dazed and Confused guitar solo (one of the best of all time in my opinion) was originally, almost note for note, in a Yardbirds song "Think About It".

Jimmy Page didn't waste anything he thought was good.

I like Joe, but wasn't everything he did a cover?
