Listened to the Sprinkle interview this afternoon. I was fired up about it. Two more players incoming according to him.
Basically he said he knew over the summer that the guards weren't even B1G caliber and that this was going to be a rough first year. He was so pissed about the season that he didn't even watch the selection show, he's never been more motivated in his career, etc.
Yes, every loser coach says that. Guess you'd have to hear it from him.
A couple posters didn't like me saying it, but I like Sprinkle's vibe. If I was a young recruit I would want to play for him.
He’s no nonsense. He tells the kids how it is and some can’t handle that. He said a couple times this year that the players in the roster weren’t responding to his way of coaching and that he had to come at them with a lighter hand. (Paraphrasing) There’s a good reason only two players stayed and it obviously wasn’t money. That said, if they don’t win 20+ next year and make the tourney no one will want to be coached hard by a loser. Kids today only take that from Self, Sampson, Hurley, Izzo etc because they win a lot. Huge tear coming up and I’ll be watching.
