let’s assume we aren’t to give Russia anything to show for the war. What’s your solution? More war?

Putin has to save face at some point. I think the only viable solution is crimea. giving him a sliver of Ukraine that is culturally Russian already and wants to be Russian might not be the worse outcome, particularly in the long term

but do tell how killing millions and spending billions is better

Putin started the war. He doesn't get to then dictate and get all of his own terms on when and how it ends.
Nobody wants killing and spending. Zelenskyy doesn't no matter what this board thinks, and it's a tired argument that just because people disagree with giving Putin what he wants that it means we want the killing to continue. It means, on Putin's end, the killing only stops if he gets his demands, and per this tired argument, that means fuck what Ukraine thinks because they're the smaller and less equipped country, which is unacceptable. The precedent that sets would be disastrous.
That isn't how war negotiations work. I also think this ends with Russia getting a sliver of Ukraine and some other terms so I'm not entirely in disagreement with you, but Trump and Vance's plan has absolutely no guarantee to prevent Putin from breaking a ceasefire again the next time he wants more, which is the point Zelenskyy was trying to make before Vance decided to jump in for Daddy and start posturing. And Trump's response to that was stupid. "What if a bomb drops on your head?" Fuck off.
