This is a shitty year for overweight middle aged actors.

63 is middle aged now? I guess if you live to 126.

Was he overweight? Never noticed he was fat. Now PSH (ILTCHPSH) was a fat fuck.

It's as relevant as the other topics on this board. A public figure that everyone knew committed suicide. It's news. Fuck off.

I guess it depends when you think old age begins... but I think many people consider old age to start at 65, and middle age is the period before that. Don't know anybody (besides you) that seems to think middle aged = your ending age divided by 2. YMMV.

Yes PSH was overweight (though not in Capote), but I think Williams was certainly heavier than the BMI for his height... maybe not so overweight that he needed to diet.. but I'd guess he was at least a size 38+ waist. Maybe he was just big boned.... or I could just be wrong.

Favorite Robin Williams roles? Here's my top 5:

5. Jumanji - Alan Parish. After much internal debate, this one barely beats out Walter Finch in Insomnia and Popeye. Fun movie, Williams in his wheelhouse.
4. Hook - Peter Banning. "Bangarang!"
3. John Keating - Dead Poets Society. Williams carried this amazing film. Couldn't name another actor in it. Going to have to watch this again soon.
2. Sean McGuire - Good Will Hunting (fave Williams character line: "I had to see about a girl")
1. Genie - Alladin . Best Cartoon Role Ever. Nobody else makes genie work like Williams did. Showed off a surprisingly good singing voice too.

Can't think of anyone else as comedically talented who could pull off Keating and McGuire. Amazing talent. He'll be missed. Been awhile since he was super relevant though.

I liked his ability to play a antagonist... as he did in Insomnia... opposite Al Pacino (the cop).

Agree on Good Will Hunting.

He had some pretty good dramas. He's a creepy fuck in One Hour Photo. I never found him funny though. Same with Jim Carrey. They are both too manic.

Insomnia was in my original top 5, just missed the cut. Very underrated flick. Agreed his ability to play the antagonist was very impressive for a comic.
