Woof - Ali Gaye

So is this a classic case of a guy with off the charts athleticism but with relatively no football experience?

A proverbial diamond in the rough..a 6' 6" steak eater with quicks.

Is he a rare and exceptional body type that 2 out of 4 times becomes and early round draft pick?

there will not be a dry eye in the stands when Ali "Captain Diversity" Gaye takes the field in the Purple and Black

He could be an exception, but most great interior DLs are shorter than Gaye because they need to get low, hold their position and get under the pads of OLs. It's called LEVERAGE. Most are very compact and explosive with a wide butt.

Again, he may be one of the few really good tall interior DLs. It's just uncommon.

Calias Campbell, Tony McDaniel, Jarran Reed, JJ Watt (3-4 plays inside mostly), Michael Bennett ( he plays inside a lot of the time), and Michael Brockers all say Hi!

Hell Allen is 6"4 and Vita is 6"5... if your tall and a freak like Ali you can dominate from anywhere on the line.. Those guys more than makeup for the "leverage" they lose..

Dude, I said it was "uncommon," not impossible. Besides, all the guys you mentioned (except Brockers) are not legit 3-technique guys. They're big DEs. That is a different position than Marlon, who is more interior (NG or 3T). And Jarren Reed may be a 3T but he is only 6'3".

Jarran Reed is a true 3 tech..

You don't need leverage when you can skullfuck someone off the line.

Let's introduce Nick Harris to some roids get him up to 305lb and make him play DT. He is quick as a cat and tough. That might work

This may have been true at one time, but most teams these days are comfortable with taller DTs and some even prefer 6'4" and above for the position. If he was 6'2" you could worry that we* were stuck with him at DT with no option of using him at DE, but this is stupid.
