A diversity hire President hires a diversity hire AD who hires a diversity hire Head Football Coach, who then hires an assistant RB Coach to be the OC (not sure how that fits in except to say he won’t take the spotlight off the defense. I’m sure they are all great people. Cohen’s background is in fundraising. Jimmy’s in coaching DB’s. They were both hired to do a job that is completely different than what they have any experience for. All three should have cut their teeth at a smaller school before taking on a job like the UW.

But then again, if we are diverse and inclusive than we can just call ourselves winners. At the UW, wokeness is more important than winning.

Personally, I never thought he was a no-brainer hire but it was clear he would get the job two years before he did when UW panicked and made him co-DC as soon as other teams started sniffing around him. There was no coaching search to replace Petersen. This collapse is 90% on Cohen who is ruining everything she touches.

Everyone knew the formula was keep the defensive staff (especially Kwat) and then hire someone to come in and completely rebuild the offensive system how they wanted without Jimmy/Pete interference no matter the cost.

Instead Jimmy lost kwat, hired a guy that has to show a badge to get into his own coaching meetings, and has completely dropped the ball at the thing he was supposed to be good at, player recruiting and motivation.

Lake wasn’t a woke hire, he fit well into the plan everyone saw at the time.

I just can’t decide if Lake got the HC coffee cup and started putting in less work than he did when he was a position coach OR if he was always a piece of shit that rode Kwats coattails and can only manage 5-10 teen DBs at a time, not an actual entire team operation…
