Willie Taggart is an underrated coach and i'll tell you why ... no playbook!

.....

Blackman thinks he has a strong grasp of what new offensive coordinator Kendal Briles wants to run. Even though Blackman has had three offensive coordinators and varied schemes in his short career, he told reporters during preseason camp that he has an understanding of "what to do and when to do it and how to do it" when it comes to Briles' high-tempo spread offense.

And he's learning the scheme without a playbook. In fact, everyone is.

It's a new wrinkle for Florida State in 2019, something Taggart has embraced -- and so have the players.

"It's a great thing not having a playbook because you have to go and make sure you write up the plays by yourself," Blackman said. "And go study by yourself and make your own playbook. Guys are really putting in the work to learn and understand your job."[/b]

that's right. No playbook. Some mothafookin' football accountability leadership from Taggart!

I love this. They're going to build a statue of that dude in Tallahassee. #dosomethingstupid ...

That's fucking brilliant. It saves resources and time for the coaches, and makes it easy to just blame the players when they all go to the line with a different play in mind.

There are no sticks lying around and no exposed dirt to draw in on most modern football fields. I bet someone, probably center, wears a big dry erase board on his back so they can sketch routes and blocking assignments in the huddle after they realize they're all trying to run different plays.

I don't know. I think the guy with less steak and more sizzle is worse.

Or is it more steak but less sizzle?

Cristobal still needs to prove himself, but damn I’m happy this shit for brains went to Tallahassee.

You're LIPO stance on Willie was well-documented.

Sure. It was one season with a qb who couldn’t throw the football. Helfrich I called in three weeks, but Oregon also had him for OC for 3 years before. Taggart was kind of an unknown to me. It took a season at Florida State with a veteran and healthy QB to see how shitty of a coach he really was.
