Man what a final play with the drop in the natty. Though that's a bit on DeBoer and company for not being able to bring in better options at RB.

First thing I was going to mention. A veteran dropping the ball like that was brutal in a game with little margin for error.
I'm sure it will haunt him forever so there's that. Some of it is on Deboer and co to me too.
- Poor clock management that ended up getting DJ hurt more so
- Never developing a #2 back during the season so they are more ready for that moment (part of this is having every fucking game go down to the final play so it was harder to give depth guys reps)
- Not bringing in another portal back who was better given what they could sell with the program going into 2023
To be fair Davis did tear his ACL in August. Johnson was brought in to be the 1a or 1b back.
A Davis/Johnson 1-2 punch would have been a great mix. Both were capable pass catchers and with Davis you’ve got someone good enough to give Johnson appropriate rest after his big games that always seemed to leave him dinged up.
Really pulling for Davis and it definitely was a shitty injury. He would have been the #2 over Nixon and Rogers. I'm not a big believer though and don't think the staff should have rested on having him. He averages 4.3 per-carry in a time when it's easy to have a big ypc (see Taulapapa). Maybe I'm being too elitist though.
Sorry Stalin, now that the kids get paid they're pros and I boo them. He killed us in the natty with that drop.

Running back is the only position where they have depth and unfortunately it's one where very few guys can get reps.

- Davis really good #2 if healthy
- Tybo - actually love him as a #3 but wonder if he won't stick around to be that
- Adams II - assume he portals
- Ngata - assume he portals but would love to have him as a KR option
- Mohammed - freshman likely redshirt

Davis getting hurt in the offseason was a monumental loss.
Tybo as #3 should keep him around. Davis is gone after 2024 and Coleman might not stick around even if he has eligibility left.

watching that drop live in person, it was massive. Seemed like he had tons of grass in front of him, and if he could make one man miss he may have scored… on replay it didn’t seem as much.
