"Coach (Chris) Petersen, coach (Bob) Gregory and coach (Jimmy) Lake all were real with me and they pulled me aside and gave me a 'pep talk' about my grades. My grades weren't that bad, but they definitely could have been better, so for the last couple of semesters, I've put my nose in the books, stayed after school to get help, studied every chance I got and my grades are back where they should be."
"After our second game of the day, we had a little bit of a break, so the coaches pulled me into coach Pete's office and they offered," Latu recalled. "My parents couldn't be there because of some other commitments, but our 'team mom' was there and my coach (Mark Iddins) and they have both been a great support to me, so they got to share in that with me."
"Nah, I'm not really even thinking about a commitment to anyone," Latu noted. "I love the Huskies, they're the hometown school, but it's still really early and I haven't really even seen that many schools yet. I wasn't thinking about committing, but I was really happy I got the offer."
