Absolutely. My guess is that DeBoer fails at Bama but then gets hired at a different Washington-level school and absolutely kills it.I was happy to see DeBoer implode at 9-4. But ATBS, I'd trade him for Fisch in a heartbeat
For all the heat UK fans gave Calipari, they were too Nebraska classy to put a for sale sign in his yard.Wiki is the new For Sale signs in the coaches yard
One of my all time favorites on Friday Night Lights
I agree - though I’ve been wondering what the next “Washington-level school” might be for him - it won’t be another (current) blue blood, and he won’t consider too low in the P5 hierarchy, nor anywhere in the Western US, as he continues to plot a way to the pros and the associated richesAbsolutely. Minnesota. Fleck is a perpetual 7-8 game winner that runs an archaic offense. That won’t fly forever. They’ve updated all their facilities with that fat Big 10 money and their stadium is relatively new. He’d kill it there.I agree - though I’ve been wondering what the next “Washington-level school” might be for him - it won’t be another (current) blue blood, and he won’t consider too low in the P5 hierarchy, nor anywhere in the Western US, as he continues to plot a way to the pros and the associated richesAbsolutely. Nebraska? Maybe a really beaten-down Michigan is the ceiling?
It feels like the rapid jumping and the lack of a coaching tree is going to catch up to him (or maybe already has?)
Edit: I take it back - no way Michigan takes him directly after a big flameout at Alabama - their fan base/alums are insane. I say Nebraska, or maybe like an Utah if Whitt leaves, or Oklahoma when fans get tired of Venables.
You’re right he would kill it there - but I think that’s an example of a program he would think is too far of a step back career wise. Same with say the Iowa schools, or even like Wisconsin. Don’t think another SEC school (except terrible ones) would touch him right away and ACC probably doesn’t interest him enough (and I don’t think he’d make a short list at say Clemson or fsu)Minnesota. Will DeBoer be Kirby’s OC as a way to rehab his failures? That’s what both Kiffin and Sark did at Alabama. Is Georgia’s OC a better move than Minnesota’s HC?Just a reminder of two guys named Lane Kiffin and Steve Sarkisian
DeBoer could get another job rather easily
This. Wishing he was still here and rooting for him to implode at Bama are not mutually exclusive.I was happy to see DeBoer implode at 9-4. But ATBS, I'd trade him for Fisch in a heartbeat
