He said as a child how rising gas prices hurt his family and they would discuss them around the kitchen table. Yes, the old kitchen table. The first OPEC oil crisis was in 1973. Gas was under .30 cents a gallon. It wasn’t just the price that went up. It was unavailable at stations when they would run out and humongous lines at the stations that had it.
