Why I love Japanese Culture.

So I started going to this Japanese place in the middle of the day because I'm bored and don't want to be involved in my kids preschool shit.
Same time, same order. Some mini rolls and a few 24oz Sapporo glasses.
They became so respectful that they decided to be closed during the afternoon until dinner as a business policy, but never told me and just let me sit here and finish my beer in a literal empty building

I watched Gung Ho yesterday. 1986 Michael Keaton classic. About an American plant that shut down in the heartland and a Japanese company comes in and saves the town. It's a clash of cultures and hilarity ensues. Keaton's opening remarks to the Japanese board are - I love Japan, Great place. My dad came here in the four…uh its great to be here

Kind of racist for today but funny and everyone looks bad then they work together to save the plant and the town
It reminded me that in the 80s Japan was the threat economically

I went out to a farm near Happy Valley for a wedding last night and like the first side comment thing from some doughey piece of shit loser duck fan....I prefer this side of the river. My wife can't even blow me into being calm going over there anymore.
I've tried to get to Bend through my wife's family events. But there's 1 divorce lawyer uncle that is down with that and lives there and a bunch of Grants Pass poors that override us ever summer.

Bend is a one of a kind town in the (USA) PNW in terms of combo of airport, weather + Mt Bike and Big Boy skiing amenities. Doesn't matter what state it's in from my perspective. But if you aren't an avid skier, it doesn't pencil out.

The time to pull that trigger was summer 2019 on our "Baby Moon" when my wife said she liked Bend and I was enjoying walking around gloating to quooks there about 2018.

I don't think Bend is "overrated" or "underrated". It's just expensive (west of the river) and you live there for the outdoor recreation amenities. I fucking hated driving 2 + hrs to go ski Crystal on the weekends living in Seattle. Didn't even have a Mt Bike there either. That kinda living is shit AF for what I value.

Yeah I mean, like I said I have some successful relatives there. I totally get the bubble of "this is so awesome here". You are far enough from Portland which is an underrated benefit.
I'm buying land near Estacada and building a doog stronghold or I'm done with that State entirely outside of the retarded amount of money I put into their college fund shit years ago.
I could do Happy Vag/Lake 0/Oregon City but then I'd be within "let's get a beer" distance from my sister. Fuck that. Not that there's anything wrong with her but drinking in that area isn't fun anymore.

The fucking manager walks over, with him confused, and says, "Ugh sir, state of Washington law forces us to have to put your beer in a sealed container right now."
"Ugh, what? No, I'm finishing this here before I leave."
"Okay well Washington State law requires you to have this sealed if you want to take it home."
"Yeah, no I get that there's 20 ounces of beer here. I'm drinking it now and leaving."
"Okay well just make sure if you want to take it home you come have us put it in a sealed container for you."
"Okay."
