Of course it's defective. It's a dem run government program which like voter rolls is dirty with stolen social security numbers. But it does provide some screening since you need to get a stolen Social Security number. Anyone with a brain and the actual desire to clean up the data base could do so. But just like you leftards screamed bloody murder when Doge started cleaning up the actual Social Security rolls it would take some effort to start cross referencing Social Security numbers for legitimacy. Like does the E-Verify have data for the age of the Social Security number holder? Last employment address submitted? But like voter rolls, the left hates a closed border and a more effective screening software.

A business knows when they are hiring illegals. E verify works for those not gaming the system like democrats and meat packing owners
